Celebrating 10 years of inSuit: a path to universal accessibility

A decade ago, inSuit was born with a clear purpose: to achieve universality on the Internet. What began as a vision of a group of professionals committed to technological accessibility, has now become a leading company that offers solutions and services that enable people with disabilities to easily and efficiently access web pages and applications, and public and private organisations to comply with current accessibility regulations.

From its inception, inSuit’s creators, with experience in R&D projects, recognised an important gap: accessibility innovations were not reaching the market and those who needed them most.

With this issue in mind, they decided to develop what we know today as inSuit Tools™, an easy to implement and affordable digital accessibility solution designed to truly benefit people with disabilities by providing them with accessible navigation tools (assistive technologies), while remediating errors and accessibility issues detected on the website through our great remediation solution configured for each website by our accessibility experts: inSuit Accessibility Manager™.

Over the years, these solutions have been followed by a whole portfolio of digital accessibility products and services that are making it possible for inSuit  to get closer and closer to achieving the longed-for universality of the Internet. This has led inSuit  to be part of a key collaboration with the European Union for the improvement of digital accessibility, actively participating in very relevant international forums such as the “Spanish Focus Group AccessCoVE”, the launching of the AccessibleEU and the European  Accessibility Summit 2024, reinforcing the fact that inSuit is an important agent of change in the digital transformation, both in the public and private sector. Although there is still a long way to go.

The evolution that has given way to the inSuit 360™ accessibility platform

Over the years, inSuit has been on a path of constant evolution, starting with the creation of inSuit Tools™; this initial tool has served as the basis for the development of the soon-to-be-launched inSuit 360™ comprehensive accessibility platform.

The inSuit 360™ platform consists of different solutions, in addition to inSuit Tools™ and  and inSuit Accessibility Manager™, it also incorporates some complementary solutions such as:

As external services to the platform, inSuit also offers:

A process of integration and continuous improvement that reflects inSuit’s commitment to true digital inclusion, transforming the way digital accessibility is conceived.

The vision behind inSuit’s 10-year success story

inSuit’s founding team, composed of passionate visionaries, share a common philosophy: “accessibility should be universal and technology should be a solution, not a barrier”.

As Salvador Romero, CTO of inSuit, puts it: “The secret to technological accessibility lies within the technology itself. Technology is both the problem and the solution.

This thinking was key to the creation of a solution that not only facilitates access to the web, but does so in a way that is personalised and adapted to the needs of each user.

Juan Antonio Cebollada, CCO, underlines the company’s ambition: “In my mind, inSuit is already present on every website in the world, universalising access to content and services”. The universality of the web, according to this vision, is not a luxury, but a necessity.

Sebastian Rodriguez, CEO, sums it up in a nutshell: “Why do people have to adapt to technology? Let’s make the human-machine interfaces smarter and let them adapt better to us.

This statement reflects inSuit’s mission to put accessibility at the heart of the digital experience.

Collaboration with associations supporting people with disabilities

Throughout these 10 years, inSuit has established strong links with various associations working on behalf of people with disabilities.

Such collaborations have been fundamental to the growth and continuous improvement of the accessibility solution, as it allows for constant, first-hand feedback on the real needs of users.

Among inSuit’s friends are prominent organisations such as: CERMI CV, COCEMFE CV, COCEMFE Valencia, COCEMFE Alicante, RED Proyecto Social Discapacidad-Tecnología, APCA, AVAPACE, COGAMI, Fundación Reina Sofía and CASMACS, among others.

These collaborations have not only helped refine inSuit’s technology, but have also strengthened the social impact of the solution offered, contributing to improving the quality of life of thousands of people with disabilities.

As a result, inSuit is not just a technology tool, but a solution driven by and for the community.
